DUSHANBE, November 13 (RIA Novosti) - A new political party has been registered in Tajikistan, the chairman of the Economic Reform Party said Sunday.
Olimdzhon Boboyev said Tajikistan's Justice Ministry registered his party last week.
"Now we have to admit our supporters to membership, create party cells, conduct local conferences and elect delegates for the next party congress," Boboyev said.
He said the party had about 1,100 scientists, economists and specialists in various economic sectors among its ranks.
The registration of the new party brings to seven the number of officially registered political parties in Tajikistan, which currently includes the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), the Communist Party, the Socialist Party, the Democratic Party, the Social-Democratic Party and the Islamic Renaissance Party (IRP).
