* A Chechen militant was killed in the Russian republic of Daghestan

* Unidentified assailants threw a grenade into a policeman's house in the republic of Ingushetia. No one was hurt

* A serviceman who tried to disassemble an anti-tank grenade in Chechnya was injured after it exploded

* Daghestan residents have been blocking a main highway for a second day, demanding that the authorities pay compensation for damage done to their housing and property as a result of natural disasters in 2002

* Over 3,000 policemen guarded a rock concert in the Chechen city of Gudermes attended by 15,000 people. No incidents were reported

* A Chechen militant was detained in the Daghestani town of Babayurt

* Vladimir Kuznetsov, the new prosecutor of Karachayevo-Cherkessia, was presented to the Russian republic's president. They discussed the crime situation
