GROZNY, October 29 (RIA Novosti) - A parliamentary election campaign officially started in Chechen mass media Saturday. Each candidate was given a certain amount of free airtime on two state-controlled TV channels and free ad space in the press, the republic's election commission said.
A total of 357 candidates, including 106 representatives from eight Russian political parties, are running for 58 parliamentary seats.
The election to the bicameral parliament will be held on November 27.
