RIGA, October 26 (RIA Novosti, Yury Guralnik) - Latvian Prime Minister Aigars Kalvitis put fugitive Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky on the Latvian persona non grata list by signing a resolution Wednesday, the government said.

The decision was based on a recommendation from the country's National Security Council on October 19.

Kalvitis was quick to respond to the recommendation by proposing to blacklist Berezovsky.

"Visiting Latvia, Berezovsky has often put the country in an embarrassing situation, and I will motion he should be included in the list of persons barred from entering the country," the prime minister said.

Among other Russians reportedly on the list is Dmitry Rogozin, the leader of the patriotic Homeland party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party who is known for his radical stances, and pop singer, businessman and member of parliament, Iosif Kobzon.
