MOSCOW, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russia has submitted to the UN General Assembly First Committee on Disarmament and International Security a draft resolution on transparency and confidence building measures in space, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Saturday.
"The task of preserving uninhibited access to space, ensuring the security of space property and using the results of space activity for the benefit of all countries is topical like never before," the ministry said.
An array of transparency and confidence building measures by the international community would increase the predictability of space activity, becoming a factor of consolidation for all states, the ministry said.
"Our objective is to strengthen international security and keep space peaceful for ourselves and succeeding generations," the ministry said.
