MOSCOW, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - Vice President of Russian Railways (RZD) Vadim Morozov and Syria's transportation minister discussed the possibility of supplying Russian railroad cars and locomotives to Syria, the RZD press office said Friday.

The parties discussed possible deliveries of spare parts and Russian-made train security systems, and the participation of RZD construction companies in the development of Syria's railroad infrastructure.

"The parties also discussed the prospects of developing an international North-South transportation corridor and cooperation in the scientific, technical, and educational spheres," the press office said.

The parties agreed to set up a joint working group to draft specific areas of cooperation. Morozov expressed hope that the meeting would boost bilateral cooperation.
