NOVOSIBIRSK, October 14 (RIA Novosti, Yana Ryabinskaya) - The Russian coal-mining company Russky Ugol announced Friday that it is planning to invest more than $35 million to modernize and retool the Novosibirsk metallurgical enterprise.

"Under the modernization program, Russky Ugol [Russian Coal] has already launched the experimental and industrial operation of the automated metal control system at the metallurgical facility to have information about available stocks and client order fulfillment. The system will be eventually integrated into the client order keeping, accounting and other systems. The project cost more than 8 million rubles [about $280,000]," the company said.

The Novosibirsk metals enterprise is the sole facility in Siberia producing top quality and special rolled steel, cold-rolled belt from more than 100 grades of steel and alloys, and a wide range of pipes. The enterprise is owned by Russky Ugol.
