MAKHACHKALA, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - Five militants were killed in a special operation in downtown Makhachkala, the capital of the North Caucasian Republic of Daghestan, the local Interior Ministry said Sunday.
Policemen were checking houses where militants could have been hiding and fell into an ambush. Two policemen were killed and one wounded.
