VLADIVOSTOK, September 22 (RIA Novosti)-Tycoon Roman Abramovich has agreed to another term as governor of Russia's far-eastern Chukotka region, a spokesman said Friday.

The spokesman for Konstantin Pulikovsky, the presidential envoy to the Far East, said: "Abramovich agreed [to another term] in a telephone conversation with the envoy."

According to Forbes magazine, Abramovich, who spends most of his time in London, is Russia's richest man with a fortune of almost $15 billion. He gained worldwide fame in summer 2003 by buying London soccer team Chelsea FC. He injected millions into the side, which claimed the national title last season.

Media have reported that Abramovich is about to sell his biggest asset, the Sibneft oil company, to the state gas monopoly Gazprom.
