RIO DE JANEIRO, September 19 (RIA Novosti, Andrei Kurguzov) - The first concert of the renowned Kremlin orchestra in Rio de Janeiro caused quite a sensation.

The program included works by prominent Russian and foreign composers Shostakovich, Bach, Dvorák, and Rimsky-Korsakov.

Conductor Misha Rachlevsky said the orchestra had toured Brazil two years ago. "We gave several concerts in Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay, and arrived in Brazil where we will stay for some time," he said. "The orchestra will perform in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Florian?polis, Aracaju, and Brasilia."

The Kremlin orchestra will also tour Colombia and Ecuador, followed by Germany, the United States, and Canada. The orchestra will return to Russia in November.
