ROSTOV-ON-DON, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - The president of Kabardino-Balkaria, a republic in the North Caucasus, Valery Kokov has resigned, a Russian presidential envoy said Friday.
Dmitry Kozak said: "Consultations will soon be held to find a replacement for the republic's leader."
Kokov's term of office was to expire on January 13, 2007.
