Georgian-Turkish economic commission session opens in Tbilisi

TBILISI, September 13 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskhelia) - A Turkish-Georgian intergovernmental economic commission has opened a two-day session in Tbilisi, the Georgian Economic Development Ministry said Tuesday.

State Minister Kursad Tuzmen, who is the head of a Turkish delegation of about 100 businessmen, said after arriving the Georgian capital: "We intend to discuss the establishment of a free economic zone on the Black Sea along with the other issues," said Tuzmen. "Moreover, the Turkish businessmen...have concrete business projects."

The session will discuss the expansion of bilateral trade relations, simplified customs procedures, direct investment, a draft agreement on preventing double taxation, technical cooperation, and interaction in the transportation sector.

The Turkish delegation is also scheduled to meet with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli.
