MOSCOW, September 12 (RIA Novosti) - Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the country's Vice President Gholamreza Agazadeh said there was no reason to submit Iran's nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council.

"There are no legal or procedural grounds to submit Iran's nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council," he said before adding that a reaction would be prompt and firm if any countries wished to politicize the issue.

According to the official, negotiations between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have achieved positive results. "The organization's reports prove this. We are not seeking dividends - our aim is to create an atmosphere of confidence and transparency to convince the world community of the peaceful ends of our nuclear program," the vice president said.

He said that the parliament's lower chamber ratified a draft law on the construction of 20 nuclear power plants over the course of the next 25 years. "We are now drawing up documents on the future construction, and any countries can tender for contracts," Agazadeh said.

The vice president said that this was not a tactical move but a government policy. "Given that oil prices are constantly growing and the trend is likely to continue, it is Iran's intention to go on implementing projects on the construction of nuclear power plants," he said.

Agazadeh also said that his Monday talks with the Russian foreign minister, the secretary of the Russian Security Council, and the head of Rosatom had been "useful and constructive."
