GROZNY, September 12 (RIA Novosti) - Representatives of federal political parties stated Monday their intention to participate in the parliamentary elections in Chechnya scheduled for November 27.

"Today representatives of various political parties gathered to state their intention to participate in the Chechen parliamentary election and to monitor its transparency," Vyacheslav Volodin, vice speaker of the State Duma (Russia's lower house of parliament), said following a session in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, on preparations for the election.

He said the election in Chechnya would help stabilize the situation in Chechnya on the whole and form an effective power.

"Chechnya is the only republic without a legislative authority," Volodin said.

He added that the regional branch of the United Russia political party in Chechnya already had some 21,000 members.

Dmitry Rogozin, the leader of the Rodina (Fatherland) party, said at the session that his party would also take part in the elections.

Rogozin said Bislan Gantamirov, the former Chechen minister on national politics, press and information, would head the list of Rodina candidates in the elections.

Putin's Deputy Chief of Staff Vladimir Surkov, presidential envoy to the South Federal District Dmitry Kozak, and Chechen President Alu Alkhanov took part in the session.
