MOSCOW, September 12 (RIA Novosti) - The chairman of Russia's central electoral commission told a press conference Monday that he can see no reason to call an early parliamentary election in the country.
"In Russia, the [next] election to parliament will be held within the timeframe set by the constitution - December 2007," Alexander Veshnyakov said, commenting on former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov's recent statement that a parliamentary vote could be held as early as 2006.
