MOSCOW, September 9 (RIA Novosti) - Neither Ukrainian authorities nor the opposition are interested in the political success of dismissed Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko, a senior researcher at the CIS Institute in Moscow said Friday at a news conference.

"Whatever their differences might be, neither Yushchenko nor Yanukovich, i.e. the current authorities and the opposition, are interested in Yuliya Tymoshenko finding a place in the sun and being a political success," said Konstantin Zatulin, the director of the institute and member of the Russian parliament's lower house.

"Further cooperation between Yushchenko and Tymoshenko is impossible." Zatulin said. "Yushchenko's inner circle would never forgive [her] for undoing their hero."

He also said that "despite their shared attitude to Tymoshenko, Yanukovich and Yushchenko will not take any joint action, as it would undermine the backbone of their political forces."

Zatulin said Yushchenko and Yanukovich might meet, but would strike no strategic alliance.

"Russia should not get too excited about the current crisis in Ukraine," he said. "The pro-Russian opposition will have serious problems in this situation."

He said voters' attention would be focused on the situation in the Yushchenko and Tymoshenko camps, sending the pro-Russian opposition to the background.

Zatulin then turned his attention to newly appointed acting Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov, calling him a replaceable figure.

"If Yekhanurov is appointed prime minister, it will not make him one of the top ten politicians in Ukraine. He will avoid making political statements as before, if Yushchenko can keep him in check, of course," Zatulin said.

For this purpose, he said, Yushchenko will need an aide, and former Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council Poroshenko could step in, meaning, Zatulin said, Poroshenko's resignation was not final and he would be back.
