MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - The authorities of Kyrgyzstan hope an outflow of ethnic Russians from the republic will subside, a senior official said Thursday.

"The outflow of Russians is a problem we are working hard to solve," Ishengul Boldzhurova, an acting deputy prime minister, told a news conference Thursday.

Boldzhurova said the revival of industry might prompt them to give up thoughts about emigrating.

"This is an important problem in terms of economics, as well as national security," she said.

Boldzhurova said anti-Russian sentiments had never been strong in Kyrgyzstan. "We do not differentiate between citizens by their ethnic origin," she said.
