BRUSSELS, September 7 (RIA Novosti, Alexander Shishlo) - The NATO and Russian defense ministers will discuss anti-drug cooperation on September 13-14 in Berlin, a NATO source in Brussels said Thursday.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov will meet the ministers at an informal NATO meeting to discuss joint measures to stop the flow of illegal drugs from Afghanistan. The NATO press service had previously said the defense ministers of NATO countries would be discussing Russia's involvement in NATO's Mediterranean anti-terrorist operations with Ivanov.

Russia may send one or two of the navy's Black Sea Fleet ships in 2006 to assist NATO ships in anti-terrorist patrol on the Mediterranean.

At the upcoming Berlin talks, Russian-NATO peacekeeping cooperation and joint air security will be discussed, the NATO press service said.
