MOSCOW, September 6 (RIA Novosti) -Russia will be playing to win in the 2006 World Cup qualifier against Portugal that will take place at Moscow's Cherkizovo Stadium on September 7, Cristiano Ronaldo, a halfback on the Portuguese national team, told a news conference in Moscow Tuesday.

According to Ronaldo, the team will face a serious opponent. "The Russian team is very strong, and it will do all possible to win. The fact that we won 7:1 at home is misleading. Wednesday will see a different game."

Portugal sent its best players to Moscow, including some who are playing for Moscow Dynamo as well.

Midfielder for the Portuguese national team and Dynamo's Costinha said the Russian team was composed of strong players. "I cannot even tell who is the best one," he said.
