MOSCOW, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - The fire, which broke out in a shed full of propane-filled balloons and tanks of gasoline in southeast Moscow, has been extinguished, the Moscow fire department said.

"Fire fighters are cooling the tanks at the moment, cleaning up the site, and pouring water on the debris to prevent a new fire," the department said. It confirmed nobody had been killed or injured in the fire.

The five-alarm fire raged in an area of more than 1,000 sq m. Major General Alexander Yeliseyev, the head of the Emergencies Ministry's Moscow Department, oversaw the fire-fighting operation.

Each tank contained 60 metric tons of gasoline.

More than 30 fire fighters were working at the scene, and two helicopters and a fire engine train helped put out the fire.

Traffic on that section of the railroad was stopped and residents of nearby houses were evacuated. They are returning now.
