MAKHACHKALA, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Three traffic police officers were killed on Monday night in the southern Russian republic of Daghestan after unknown assailants opened fire on their car, a police spokesman said Tuesday morning.
The incident happened on a federal highway 70 kilometers (about 40 miles) away from the republic's capital, Makhachkala.
The assailants fled the scene and are currently being sought.
