Russia a step closer to 2007 Women's World Cup finals

MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russia beat Switzerland in a 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying match in the Swiss city of Zug Thursday.

The Russian team won against the Swiss 2-0, with goals scored by Yelena Morozova and Olessia Kurochkina, 3 minutes and 54 minutes into the match.

Russia have won all three 2007 World Cup qualifiers so far and are leading the pack (Switzerland, Germany, Republic of Ireland, and Scotland) with nine points overall. They play Germany in an away game in Leimbach September 25.
