MOSCOW, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry helped organize the MAKS-2005 international air show in Zhukovsky (the Moscow region) and saw to it that military and technical contracts signed at the show complied with Russia's international obligations, the ministry's official spokesman said Saturday.

Mikhail Kamynin said that the Foreign Ministry "had controlled this work with foreign participants [via its foreign missions] and took part in drafting and coordinating international legal acts signed during the show, in particular, an intergovernmental agreement with India on license production of AL-55I aircraft engines."

The Foreign Ministry also supervised the rapid issue of visas to foreign guests and MAKS-2005 participants.

"Hundreds of Russian and foreign aircraft and spacecraft designers and producers demonstrate their newest achievements," Kamynin said. "Serious agreements and contracts on supplies of modern Russian military and civilians products, handover of technologies, joint production and services of aviation and space equipment are being concluded. MAKS-2005 has confirmed its right to be one of the best air shows in the world."
