MOSCOW, August 10 (RIA Novosti) - Transneft, a Russian oil company, is holding discussions with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on the environmental assessment of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline project, a WWF news release said Wednesday.

Last week, Transneft and WWF officials exchanged technical information on the project, which includes construction of the pipeline and an oil-loading terminal in Russia's Far East Primorye territory.

Transneft president Semyon Vainshtock said if WWF experts had objections to the project on any issues, the company would consider making changes.

Igor Chestin, director of the Russian office of WWF, said the discussions would help find a joint solution taking into account both economic and environmental interests.
