PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, August 6 (RIA Novosti, Oksana Guseva) - Rescue equipment has been discharged from a British C-17 plane in the airport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Deputy Commander of the Russian Troops and Forces in Russia's Northeast Yevgeny Petrov said.

A vessel carrying the equipment will go to the Berezovaya Bay where a Russian submersible with seven sailors onboard was trapped at a depth of 190 meters. It will take the vessel six hours to reach the rescue operation site, Petrov added.

One of the three C-5 U.S. planes is currently being discharged, he said. The plane has brought two Scorpion undersea vehicles.

Another two planes are scheduled to land within an hour, Petrov said.
