"This is a realistic schedule, but maybe we will manage to go ahead of it," Dmitry Milovantsev, the deputy minister of the Information Technologies, said after a session of the working group for the creation of the IT park.
The government is to cover 20% of the project's total cost from the federal and municipal budgets. These funds will be assigned to develop the IT park's infrastructure and sustain young companies. Private investors are expected to provide the remainder.
A contest of creative ideas related to the IT park will begin in September, and winners are expected to tender for architectural and constructional projects no later than October.
The IT park concept includes four blocks: a university, offices for global IT leaders, business centers representing Russian companies, and social infrastructure for the staff.
The St. Petersburg IT park will be built on the base of the State University of Communications and will cover 45 hectares of its territory.
