MOSCOW, July 21 (RIA Novosti) - Kazakhstan has proposed training specialists for space programs with Russia, Kazakh Prime Minister Danial Akhmetov said at a meeting with representatives of Russian aerospace institutes in the Kazakh capital of Astana.

Akhmetov proposed involving scientists and teachers from the best Russian space educational institutions and from other countries, if necessary.

A similar training center may be opened at the Baikonur launch site for future participants and developers of space projects.

Baikonur, the 50-year-old Russian space center that saw the most important Soviet and Russian space launches, is located on Kazakh territory.

Baikonur remains one of the world's largest spaceports and accounts for 70% of Russia's space launches.

Russia plans to rent the launch site until 2050.
