KIEV, July 9 (RIA Novosti, Taras Burnos) - While speaking at the session of the National Union Our Ukraine party today, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said he hoped the journalist Gongadze murder case would be submitted to court in July and the names of those who had ordered the crime would be revealed.

"Their names will soon be made public. I hope the case will be taken to court in July," the president said.

Georgy Gongadze, who investigated corruption at the heart of Ukraine's government, disappeared in September 2000. Weeks later he was found headless in a ditch in a suburb of Kiev.

Yushchenko-led National Union Our Ukraine convened its first session today.

Ukrainian Vice Premier Roman Bessmertny said at the session that the party would assume responsibility for the actions of the president's team.

"However, I admit that we might also make mistakes," he said.

"Transition from the opposition to power was one of the most difficult periods for the party. The leaders of some regions still act as if they were in opposition," the vice premier said.

Over 1,500 delegates, some 300 representatives of media, 20 diplomats and 118 special guests are attending the event. Government officials and representatives of the church are also present.

Yushchenko is honorary chairman of the party.

The party's constitutive meeting was held in early March 2005.
