BISHKEK, July 7 (RIA Novosti) - The Bakiyev-Kulov electoral coalition could stay in place after Kyrgyzstan's presidential elections on Sunday, the leader of the Ar-Namys (Dignity) party said Thursday.

"It would be incorrect for us to enter a conflict with each other after the elections," Feliks Kulov told journalists.

He added that his electoral alliance with the acting president of Kyrgyzstan was designed to prevent a split in society, and to ensure stability in the country.

According to Kulov, "no two people are the same, and we have different views." But he said potential conflicts in the coalition should be a way to settle contradictions and contribute to good ideas and solutions.

Kulov said that Kyrgyzstan's relations with Russia would not change significantly after the presidential elections. The parliament of Kyrgyzstan could give preferences to Russian business if they benefited the Kyrgyz economy.

"No special preferences will be given to Russian business, as the law is the law," Kulov said. "But parliament will examine each specific case and grant preferences if they benefit our economy."

According to Kulov, Russian business people are already in talks with their Kyrgyz counterparts on cooperation in energy and share transfer to Russian businesses. It is important for us that Russian capital should help the Kyrgyz economy recover, he said.

Kulov said the United States was contributing to democracy in Kyrgyzstan but was not interfering in its internal affairs.

He said the U.S. only wanted Kyrgyzstan to hold honest elections. "We have far-reaching plans," he said. "If the elections are held honestly, it will mean that a true democratic revolution took place in the country."

A May 12, 2005 agreement between acting Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and former security minister Feliks Kulov practically guarantees their victory at the elections. Earlier, a conflict between Kulov supported by the country's north and Bakiyev backed by the republic's south threatened civil war and victory for a third candidate.
