MOSCOW, July 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's interior minister sent a telegram to British Home Secretary Charles Clarke offering his condolences over the terrorist attacks in London, which he called a terrible lesson for all of civilized society.
"International terrorism again and again teaches civilized society terrible lessons in different parts of the world," Rashid Nurgaliyev said.
"This evil crime is further tragic confirmation of the need to continue consolidating joint efforts against international terrorism," the document reads.
"Russia understands the profound shock and grief of the British nation," the Russian minister said. He expressed his solidarity and sympathy with relatives and friends of those who had been killed or hurt in the tragedy.
According to Western media reports, 45 people were killed in a series of terrorist attacks in London, and up to a thousand are feared to have been hurt.
