SVETLOGORSK (Kaliningrad region), July 3 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on the international community to give up all contradictions on Iraq and unite efforts to promote the Iraqi settlement.
"We believe that all contradictions on Iraq are a matter of the past," Putin told a press conference after the talks with the German and French leaders.
Putin called on all countries, including those who were involved in the Iraqi operation and those who condemned it, to unite efforts.
"We should help Iraqis take responsibility for their own destiny and we shall pursue this course within the framework of the UN Security Council," Putin said.
It is necessary to seek ways to solve this problem instead of pointing to each other's mistakes, he concluded.
