MURMANSK, June 29 (RIA Novosti, Yekaterina Kozlova) - An air company based in Murmansk, a Russian port in the northwest of the country, sent a Ka-32 helicopter to Saloniki, Greece, Wednesday.

The helicopter and the crew will stay on Rhodes, one of Greece's main resorts, till the end of summer to monitor the island and help extinguish fires if the need arises.

A company spokesman said Murmansk helicopter crews had demonstrated their skills in Turkey and Spain in previous years.

Ka-32 helicopters can be used as aerial firefighters when special water tanks are attached to them.
