MOSCOW, June 26 (RIA Novosti) - The 27th Moscow international movie festival has been held in a worthy and business-like manner, festival president, well-known Russian film director Nikita Mikhalkov said toward the festival's closure, due today.

"For us, the Moscow movie festival is important not only from the point of view of profession but prestige as well. It's one of A class festivals in the world," Mikhalkov said.

He said now celebrities came to the Moscow movie forum because Russia was a movie power where cinema was loved and valued.

Mikhalkov said there were 100 million film viewers in Russia, which was an attracting factor for cinematographers too.

"Our festival should rely on federal and municipal real and stable support," he said.

"I believe mayor Yury Luzhkov took more to his heart the Moscow festival's problems this year," he added.

"I hope a new festival center will be created in 2008, as the mayor promised us," he said.

Besides, Mikhalkov said, the festival would need Moscow's infrastructure: hotels, publicity, and transport.
