"I could name a number of restrictions and obstacles hampering global interaction of our economies, including the notorious Jackson-Vanick amendment which is still effective," Putin said at the meeting with U.S. businessmen.
The amendment was introduced in Soviet times as a response to the Communist government restrictions on the repatriation of Jews, Putin said.
"Today the amendment may be attached to any problem, for instance, agriculture, supplies of U.S. poultry, quotas, etc.," he added.
According to the president, the U.S. administration takes measures to neutralize the amendment every year but this does not help improve our relations.
Putin also said that certain anti-Iranian provisions of the U.S. non-proliferation law also hampered the Russian-U.S. economic cooperation.
The Russian-Iranian relations are absolutely transparent and open and are under the IAEA control, he said.
"There are no misunderstanding, mutual reproaches and suspicions in this sphere today," Putin added.
