MOSCOW, June 24 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom might purchase certain projects from oil giant Rosneft, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said Friday.

"We intend to consider purchasing of a number of Rosneft projects which Gazprom is interested in," Miller told a press conference following a meeting of the gas monopolist's stockholders.

Gazprom is most interested in the Sakhalin-1, Sakhalin-2 and Sakhalin-3 projects in the Russian Far East, he said.

The money gained from the recent sale of 10.74% of Gazprom's stock will be put toward purchasing core assets.

According to Miller, Gazprom is holding similar negotiations with other companies and plans to reach relevant agreements by the end of 2005. Miller declined to name the companies to which he was referring.

Miller also said that Gazprom and its strategic partners planned to purchase assets in natural gas producing countries.

Gasification and the increase of oil assets are key to Gazprom, but purchase of oil-processing companies was less important, he said.
