MOSCOW, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's justice minister said today that the Federal Security Service's (FSB) pretrial detention centers would be put under the Justice Ministry's jurisdiction in January 2006.
"All the documents are ready," Justice Minster Yury Chaika said, adding that legislation still had to be amended.
There are several FSB detention centers in Russia, including perhaps the best-known one in Moscow's Lefortovo district.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has insisted on the transfer.
