MOSCOW, June 21 (RIA Novosti) - Copies of several Mexico-related documents from the Russian Foreign Ministry's archives were offered to Mexican President Vicente Fox when he met with President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin Tuesday.

All four documents given to Fox date back to 1891 and concern the appointment of Ambassador Rincon to the Russian Empire. They include the ambassador's credentials, signed by then-Mexican President Porfirio Diaz, a letter from Rincon to then-Russian Foreign Minister Nikolai Girs, in which the newly appointed ambassador announced his arrival in St. Petersburg and asked for an audience with Russian Emperor Alexander III, Gris' report to the Emperor on Rincon's arrival, with a request for an audience for the new Mexican envoy; and a Foreign Ministry memo on His Imperial Majesty's granting of an audience to Rincon.
