The conference "International Accounting Standards Key to World Financial Markets: Theory, Practice, Prospects of Implementation in Russia" organized by a Russian NGO International Accounting Academy and opened yesterday at Hatfield Castle near London will work on June 12-14 at the Intercontinental Hotel in the city.
On Sunday, the conference will discuss recent developments in IAS, objectives of their introduction in Russia, training of Russian accountants, and valuation of Russian businesses. The second day will be dedicated to IAS practices in Russia, and on the last day the conference will look at the international IAS experience, legal base, and methods for Russian companies to become more investor-friendly.
Russian Audit Chamber Chairman Sergei Stepashin, chancellor of the Russian government's Finance Academy Alla Gryaznova, president of the auditors' professional community Boris Sokolov, and Economic Development and Trade Ministry officials are expected to speak at the conference.
