MOSCOW, June 6 (RIA Novosti) - Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a working visit to Italy Monday, and meet with his Italian counterpart Gianfranco Fini to discuss the road map progress in developing the four Russia-EU common spaces, the OSCE reform, and NATO-Russia cooperation, the Foreign Ministry reports. According to Alexander Yakovenko, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, "Sergei Lavrov and Gianfranco Fini will consider arrangements for the ministerial meeting in London on June 23 and the G8 summit in Gleneagles on July 5-6.
In the context of the fresh threats and challenges, the two ministers will also discuss the situation in the Balkans, in the Middle East, in Iraq, around Iran, and also in Central Asia," said Yakovenko.
According to him, in terms of bilateral relations, the sides will focus on implementing specific agreements on economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction.
While in Rome, Lavrov will also meet with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Vatican Secretary of State Angelo Sodano, Yakovenko said.
