TBILISI, June 3 (RIA Novosti) - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili comes out for improvement of Russian-Georgian relations and promises not to pose problems to Russia. "This country [Georgia] will not pose you any problems," Saakashvili said before a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov.

According to the president, Georgia comes out for restoration of cultural relations with Russia and contacts between the two nations.

The issue of the withdrawal of Russian military bases from Georgia was already settled and now it is time to solve other problems in bilateral relations, Saakashvili added. [On May 30, the Russian and Georgian foreign ministers issued a political statement implying the pullout of the Russian bases in Batumi and Akhalkalaki within 3.5 years.]

Speaking at the reception in honor of the participants in the session of the CIS [Commonwealth of Independent States] Prime Ministers' Council, Saakashvili said he did not intend to promote the Georgian revolution in the CIS.

"We cannot impose our development scenario and promote our revolution. But we can give an example of Georgia's democratic development," he said.

Georgia will not secede from the commonwealth which remains one of the country's priorities, he added.

According to Saakashvili, conflicts on Georgian territory [around the self-proclaimed republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia] are the other stumbling block in bilateral relations after the pullout of bases.

"There is a kind of chimera in Russian-Georgian relations which should be removed," the president said.
