Moscow, June 1 (RIA Novosti) - North Korea is always open to cooperation with Russia, North Korean Ambassador to Moscow Pak Ui Chun said on Wednesday.

"This is a political event demonstrating that North Korea is always open to and ready for cooperation with countries, particularly Russia," the ambassador said after the presentation of postage stamps issued by Russia and North Korea.

The diplomat said that Russian-North Korean cooperation "was developing owing to the efforts of the two countries' leaders and their relations".

"I hope that friendship between our countries will grow as quickly as the worldwide circulation of the stamps we have issued," the ambassador said.

"The output of Russian-North Korean stamps is a key event in the history of Russian-Korean friendly relations and an important step in the development of multilateral cooperation," Pak Ui Chun added.

The series of stamps is devoted to the most typical species of carnivorous mammals inhabiting the two countries' forests.

The stamps feature the sable and the Amur tiger, with flags of the Russian Federation and Korea reproduced on the coupons.
