MOSCOW, May 30 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and Georgia will soon draw bilateral agreements on the Russian military bases' pullout from Georgia, the Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministries say in a joint statement today.

In particular, this year will see work finished for agreements to arrange Russian military technologies transits via Georgia; and determine the functioning of Russian bases in Batumi and Akhalkalaki, and other Russian military projects in Georgia, and the procedure and deadlines for their pullout - all that in compliance with a Russo-Georgian statement made in Istanbul in November 1999.

An agreement will be drafted on the establishment and functioning of a Georgian-Russian anti-terror center.

"The agreement on the functioning of Russian military bases, and on the procedure and deadlines for their pullout will formalize understandings, in particular, on Georgia to guarantee normal functioning of Russian military bases and of military projects of the Russian military group in Transcaucasia before this functioning terminates, including guaranteed issuance of Georgian visas for personnel subject to scheduled rotation, and for other persons employed with the bases to be pulled out, their families and persons engaged at the bases on temporary mission," the statement said.

In 2005, the sides are to draft an agreement on transits via Georgia in the interests of Russia's Defense Ministry, in compliance with international legal principles and norms.

"The sides will take necessary measures for a resumption of efforts by German representatives in the OSCE [Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe] to arrange an international mission to be dispatched to Gudauta (Abkhazia) for monitoring developments in the area used by the Russian military base in Gudauta. A conclusion will be made proceeding from the mission report on implementing obligations fixed in the joint statement of the Russian Federation and Georgia, of November 17, 1999, in its part concerning the Russian military base in Gudauta," the statement said.
