RIO DE JANEIRO, May 18 (RIA Novosti's Andrei Kurguzov) - The photo exhibition named The 60th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War opened in a most prestigious cinema of Rio de Janeiro, Laura Alvin, on Tuesday. About 50 photographs from the archives of RIA Novosti and Sovinformbureau are on display, showing heroic feats and labor routine of the Great Patriotic War and heroism of the Soviet people that shouldered the main burden of the fight against Nazism.
Interestingly, the opening ceremony of the exhibition of RIA Novosti's photographs was attended by representatives of the consulates general of the three countries of the former Soviet Union, which carried the main burden of the war on Nazism - Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
Diplomats and the public, including Russian diaspora in Rio de Janeiro, attended the opening ceremony as well.
Another Victory Day photo show featuring RIA Novosti's archival pictures is to launch in the largest Latin American megalopolis of Sao Paolo on May 20.
