MOSCOW, May 16 (RIA Novosti) - Attempts to accuse Russia of violating sanctions against Iraq during the implementation of the Oil for Food program cause indignation in Moscow, the Foreign Ministry said. In this way it commented on the US Senate's report on this issue. These accusations are brought against Russia and some other countries.
"It seems that senators try to discredit the United Nations on the whole, shift responsibility to other countries and ignore the participation of some US companies in the Oil for Food program," the commentary runs.
"However, it would be more logical to start searching for violators in the United States given that the senators have a relevant mandate," the Foreign Ministry said.
