KRASNOYARSK, May 16 (RIA Novosti correspondent Boris Ivanov) - Prince Henrik of Denmark is arriving in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk on Monday as a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) emissary. Prince Henrik is expected to award a nature guardian certificate to regional Governor Alexander Khloponin.

In December 2003, Khloponin sent a letter to the WWF saying the region would take part in the fund-sponsored protection program "Gift to the Earth" and would increase the territory under special protection almost two-fold, i.e. to 6.2 million hectares. The area has been increased by nearly 522,000 ha since 2003.

This will be a 100th certificate of this kind. One more region of Russia's, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), in the east of central Siberia, has received a similar document.
