KREMLIN MARKS PRESIDENTIAL REGIMENT DAY

MOSCOW, May 7 (RIA Novosti) - Presidential Regiment Day was celebrated in the Moscow Kremlin today. Foot-soldier and mounted guard details replaced each other in an impressive setting. Moscow residents and numerous foreign guests watched the ceremony.

A gala brass-band concert of countries, members of the anti-Hitler coalition is to begin at 4.00 p.m. This concert will involve cadets of the Moscow military-musician school, the Presidential Orchestra, the band of the Presidential Regiment's guard-of-honor company, bagpipe players and drummers of the Irish Guards Grenadiers, the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, as well as the US Army Band, Europe.

The Presidential Regiment, which is part of the Federal Body Guards Service, has secret-service status. It is directly subordinated to the President of the Russian Federation and Commander-In-Chief of this country's Armed Forces.

The Presidential Regiment was established on April 8, 1936. Presidential Regiment Day is marked every May 7.
