TEHRAN, May 4 (RIA Novosti) - Secretary if the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Hasan Rouhani has said the Islamic Republic will not allow "abusing" the voluntary suspension of uranium-enrichment work in Iran.

On Wednesday the Council's press service said that, meeting a delegation of Spanish parliamentarians, Rouhani confirmed "the serious intentions of Iran to master peaceful nuclear technologies, adherence to transparent cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, fulfillment of the principles and clauses of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and the additional protocol to it".

"Despite the development of negotiations between Iran and the three European countries (Britain, France, Germany), it appears that the Europeans are going to procrastinate the negotiating process. It is unacceptable for the Iranian nation", Rouhani said.

He said that "Iran has voluntarily suspended uranium-enrichment work for creating the climate of trust. However, Tehran will not allow abusing the voluntary suspension and prompting the Islamic Republic to a full end of such activities".

"We have proposed to the European Union to issue guarantees for the peaceful component of the Iranian nuclear programs. Now is the turn of the Europeans to meet their obligations", Rouhani said.

Assessing the present situation in the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons, Rouhani voiced regret that "some states in possession of weapons of mass destruction, particularly the United States, are far from reducing their nuclear weapons and, on the contrary, and redoubling the discriminatory approaches to the fulfillment of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty".

"The Americans believe that the problem of production of nuclear fuel is to be met by specific countries, while the member states of the Treaty are duly entitled to the enrichment of uranium for peaceful ends", Rouhani noted.

As regards the struggle against international terrorism, he said: "This dangerous phenomenon poses a threat to the peace and security of all the nations".

"At the same time, a discriminatory approach should not be practiced in the struggle against terrorism. There is no good or bad terrorism", Rouhani said.

The United States Department of State has blacklisted Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria and Libya as the donor states of international terrorism.
