MOSCOW, May 1 (RIA Novosti) - The Communists and their allies have celebrated the Day of International Solidarity of Workers with a march and a meeting, which were characterized by a high degree of radicalism.

For the first time in recent years, representatives of the Rodina Party, the National Bolshevik Party, Red Youth Advanced Guard, RKRP-RPK and other leftist parties and movements marched together with KPRF supporters.

A Communist meeting took place in the center of Moscow in front of the Bolshoi Theater near the monument to Karl Marx. According to organizers of the meeting, over 50,000 people participated in the event. The police cited a different number - 10,000 people.

In his address, KPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov reminded the participants, "this season, we are celebrating three important holidays - May Day, the 60th Anniversary of the Great Victory and Easter." The leader of Russian Communists, who frequently quoted Stalin, announced that the victory in the Great Patriotic War against the Nazi Germany (1941-1945) was achieved largely due to "Stalin's strong will and strategic talent."

Changing from the subject of history to modern reality, Zyuganov harshly criticized "the anti-popular regime," announcing that the Communists' agenda envisioned organized mass protests and the struggle for a national referendum. He concluded his speech with a slogan, "Long live the revival of the great Soviet nation."

During his speech at the leftist meeting, Rodina leader (party of patriotic orientation) Dmitry Rogozin initially congratulated the participants on the Easter holiday, exclaiming, "Christ has risen!" His exclamation did not receive an enthusiastic response, though. Rogozin called corrupted bureaucracy and oligarchs "the main enemy of the Communists and patriots."

For the first time in recent years, leader of the National Bolsheviks, famous writer Eduard Limonov, was given the floor at a Communist meeting. In his emotional address, Limonov announced the readiness of his youth party members "to become the advanced guard and storm the heights."

Practically all speakers at the meeting exhibited the rising level of radicalism. Even the calls to socialist revolution were heard.
