MOSCOW, April 21 (RIA Novosti) - Over 100 publishers of periodicals are to attend an exhibition, "Publishing Business-2005", to be held in Moscow from September 27 to 29.

"This exhibition has been designed to present Russia's publishing media to the Russian and international community as a steadily developing business inviting investment," Leonid Makaron, president of the Guild of periodicals publishers, said at a RIA Novosti press-conference Thursday. This expo is also to enhance the cohesion of the Russian publishers, he added.

"The exhibition will become an annual national platform for information and experience exchange by Russian and world publishers with colleagues and partners: printers, distributors, advertisers, IT experts, potential investors and other participants in the market," said Makaron.

He also reported that an international conference organized jointly with the World Association of Newspapers would take place on the expo floor. Other events offered by the exhibition are round tables and seminars on the transparency, openness and attractiveness of the industry for partners and investors, on the self-regulation of the market as well as on the publishers' social responsibility.

The Russian media market should produce certain beacons to illumine the future for publishers, investors, printers and representatives of other relevant industries, to show them the merits of this market and to invite them to dialogue, said Yury Pulya, chief of the Board for periodicals, book-publishing and printing, the Federal Agency for the Press and Mass Communications. "I think this exhibition will be such a beacon."

This expo is for experts only.
