MOSCOW, April 19 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow's arbitration court has ruled to distrain upon the stocks of Yukos and its subsidiaries, a source in the court informed RIA Novosti.
The provisional measure has been taken in the wake of Yuganskneftegaz' suit against Yukos to reimburse a loss of 163 billion rubles ($1 = 27.82 rubles).
"It is a standard procedure. We are waiting for the court's decision and hope it will be sensible and just," a representative of Rosneft's press service commented on the court's ruling.
Rosneft, a 100% state-run company, is currently the main shareholder of Yuganskneftegaz.
The decision to seize Yukos assets was earlier reported to have been taken on the criminal case of Khodorkovsky, Lebedev and Krainov. Besides, the Court Bailiffs Service arrested the stocks of Yukos and its daughter companies to recover a debt of 2000-2002.
